»broken mirror«

dear ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately we are forced to postpone our premiere »broken mirror«. we will inform you promptly about replacement dates. stay healthy and take care of yourself! your cie. toula limnaios

what is normality and what is madness and what are the borders? reality and how you understand it depends on your point of view; others may think they are crazy. the story is reflected in your own view. the era of “dark romanticism” and art by people with exceptional psychological experiences inspire toula limnaios as much as our everyday present. she asks what is wrong: compulsive, obsessions, fears, estrangement … – the other side of people when they don’t “work”.

exceptional psychological experiences are assessed against the background of their respective times, the barriers drawn by society. dimensions of madness can be an escape from reality, a rebellion against the need to standardize, fear of the unknown, uncontrollability of what is different, incomprehension of the foreign, the unpredictable … the new piece spread out the relationship between the individual and the group. up close, nobody is normal. »broken mirror« unmask everyday madness, reflect it as part of normality. where the inner and outer world do not form a unity, there is no humanity.

»the work of the cie. toula limnaios is always characterized by exploring, digging, questioning how our lives get entangled, weaving and dissolving, how human relationships define / shape us. »broken mirror« does not tell of the great, global political struggles, but shows what is terrifying in us.
